I.C.F. Nursery school was opened on 1st August 1964 in midst of ICF Colony for the benefit of ICF employees by Shri. Hydari General Manger ,ICF & Shri. K. B. Kumar Executive Engineer as Manager & Correspondent. Ms.Vijayavalli Rathinavelu was the first Headmistress who led the school in the right path. Her service was from 01/08/1964 to 31/07/1966. The school had only 64 children in the Nursery class
The school was confined in two class rooms houses in the sanitary office. The management progressively opened primary classes one by one and it became a full fledged primary school.
From 01/08/1966 to 31/07/1967 Ms.R. Shantha took charge as headmistress.
After one year of service Ms.S.Sulochana took charge as Headmistress from 01/08/1967 to 11/12/1990. She was in the service for 23 years. During her period the strength gradually improved from 439 to 1635.
1.In
the year 1988/1989 our school obtained the Recognition order
from the Tamilnadu Govt.
2. She got approval from the management for C block with 6
class rooms.
3. In the year 1989 the strength was 1694 with 44 staff.
This growth was possible only due to the constant patronage,
care and affection shown by the successive General Managers
of I.C.F. The school has grown from strength to strength for
the past 25 years.
4. Even Non-railway people are desirous of admitting their
wards in this school.
5. Expansion were inevitable and therefore extensions had to
be made in a hurry. The ACC roof sheds which were put in a
hurry due to lot of pressure for admissions way back in
1972/1974 were then slowly being replaced by pucca building.
12/12/1990 to 31/05/2009: After a long journey of 23 years,
Ms. S.Sulochana was relieved from her service and Ms.A.
ManonMani took charge in the year 1990. She served for 10
years in this institution.
1. In the year 1997/1998 the strength of the school was 1720
and gradually the strength was decreasing to 1106 with 32
staff in the year 2007/2008.
2. Class medals award day function was organized for the
first time in our school on 11/03/2008.
3. Std I and Std II organized the function by themselves.
Top rank officers of ICF presided and awarded medals to the
children for their punctuality, neatness, regular in
attention etc.
4. A new building which was constructed in the plae of the
old with 5 class rooms on the ground floor and 5 on the
first floor was inaugurated in the year 2008/2009.
01/06/2009 to 31/05/2010: Ms. V.Revathy took the charge in
the year 2009 and served as headmistress for one year and
was relieved in the year 2010.
01/06/2010 to 31/05/2014: After Ms.V.Revathy’s retirement,
Ms.K.Vanitha took charge as Headmistress for 4 years.
It is an English medium Co-educational school from
kindergarten to Std. V. We believe in imparting education to
our children with a broad outlook of shaping them into
useful citizens of tomorrow. Our teaching methodology is
based on our school motto “LEARN BY PLAY”.
The school is recognised as I.C.F. Silver Jubilee Nursery
and Primary School by the Government of Tamilnadu, the
medium of instruction is English. The languages taught in
our school are English, Tamil and optional language Hindi.
16/06/2014: Ms.V.Vidyullatha took charge as Headmistress.
This year we have Four sections of L.K.G. Five sections of
U.K.G and two sections from Std I to Std.V. At present our
strength is 666. Our school comprises of Headmistress,
faculties 22 (Teaching and Non-Teaching) and 6 sub-staff. We
have a set of well qualified and trained teachers who mould
and nurture our young minds.
1. Project day (Spark 2014) was organized on all subjects
from L.K.G to Std V on 8th Nov 2014. Shri D.P.Dash CEGE/ICF
was the Chief Guest.
2. Botanical garden was set up in the school premises to enhance the appearance of the school and also facilitate practical learning by showing the plants & teaching the students.
3. Started to celebrate colours day . L.K.G & U.K.G celebrated colours day on 4th Dec 2014. Smt. Avanjali Dash was the chief guest.
4. Energy Conservation day was celebrated on 14th Dec 2014. Our children organized a road show holding the pla cards & repeating the slogan.
5. We started to publish our own News Letter named “News Waves” which is published and circulated halfyearly.
6. Our school Website was launched on our 50th Annual day Celebration on 20th August 2014 by Shri. Ashok K. Agarwal, G.M/ICF.
1. An exhibition was conducted on the topic “The Era of Pre and post Independence India”.
2. Started training students in hindi language based on the syllabus prescribed by the Hindi Prachara Shaba and they also appear for examination conducted by Shaba.
3. Installed R.O.water purifier for students to provide clean drinking water.
4. “Kids Play Arena “ was inaugurated on 15th August 2015 by Smt. Avanjali Dash,Women’s Organization, ICF.
5. Started values day celebration by the children of I and II on 29th October 2015. Shri D.P.Dash CEGE/ICF and Smt. Avanjali Dash were the Chief Guest.
6. World Forest day was clelbrated on 21st March 2015. Shri Mohan Forest officer along with his team gave some “Avenue trees” which were planted by our students.
7. Seed sowing Programme was organized on 11th feb 2015, where students brought oil, milk covers and sowed the seeds in that and watered the plants themselves.
1. Mass birthday celebration: a fascinating idea of mass birthday celebration was implemented in our school. All the children including the staff and sub-staff who celebrate their birthday in a month will plant sapling in our premises. This act urges the promotion of a good deed on such special days.
2. Our school proudly installed the solar panel on 29th june 2016. Our honourable EX.G.M. of ICF Mr. Ashok K.Agarwal inaugurated the solar panel.
3. “Books on Wheels” our school library was inaugurated on 15th August 2016
1. An Art and Craft Exhibition was Organized by the students, staff and parents. Parents were involved for the first time whose participation is worth mentioning.
2. Started organizing Field trips for all classes from L.K.G TO Std V as a part of their curriculum..
3. We started organizing orientation programme for teachers in the month of April every year.
4. A new lab for maths by name “Rainbow-math Lab” was inaugurated on 15th August 2017 by our EX.Chairman Mr. D.P.DashCEE/QA/ICF & Ms. Avanjali Dash.
5. Our children & staff together prepared around 2,000 seed bombs which was thrown randomly in the furnishing department of ICF on 28/07/2017 by our students along with our EX.G.M. Shri. Sudhanshu Mani and our EX.Chairman Shri. D.P.DashCEE/QA/ICF. Neem and Pungai seeds were used in the preparation of “Seed Bombing”.
6. Parents’ Resource centre has been set up on 18th Nov 2017 which plays an important role to educate the parents while they are waiting to take their children. Food festival was organized in our school campus involving the parents. Around 18 food stalls were arranged with various mouth watering dishes which invited many people to buy.
7. A green house was made for vegetable plants . Art gallery is set up for our children. A small cafeteria has been opened in the presence of SHRI. Shudanshu Mani..
8. New basket ball court for our students was inaugurated by Mr. Shahul hameed, Office chief superintendent in the presence of I.C.F. team of officers and staff.
9. Started celebrating Festival day by our upper kinder garten..
1. Our computer lab was renovated and inaugurated on 27th march 2019.
In the year 2020 we have added Science lab & Wellness hall which was inaugurated by our New chairman Shri C.M. Rao CPLE / ICF

The staff and students of icf siver jubilee
nusery & primary school celebrated graduation day by initiating a donation drive in their respective
neighbourhoods, to help terminally ill poor cancer patients. A cheque of rs. 1 lakh was handed over
to dr v. Shanta, chairman,cancer institute, who was the guest of honour at the event.
She distributed certificates to students who collected more than Rs. 1000 and interacted with them.
In her speech , she asked students to always speak the truth, usha bhaskaran, teacher trainer, was
the chief guest and presented certificates. Icf schools chairman debiprasad dash handed over the
cheque for Rs. 1 lakh. Nearly 11 students collected above Rs. 1000.
For nearly 15 days , after school, my daughter would go around the colony and ask her relatives and
friends to contribute, says b.r jayaprakash narayan, parent of nirupama shree, a class i student who
collected Rs. 2,000
Headmistress and teachers of ICF Silver jubilee nursery and primary school gathered at sidco nagar, villivakkam on 17.12.2015 to distribute relief materials to the people who lost their houses and belongings in the recent floods which stook many parts of Tamilnadu .The relief materials packed in bags were distributed to many people who felt happy.
